Welcome to the website of VOCAL – the Victims of Crime Association of Lawyers.

VOCAL was established in 2015 to bring together lawyers from different countries in Europe to share experiences and ideas about victims’ rights.  

 

It is believed to be the first association of its kind.

VOCAL’s aim is to improve and promote awareness of the legal needs and rights of victims of crime in Europe, including the needs of victims in cross-border cases.

Since its foundation VOCAL has held a number of meetings, conferences and events throughout Europe and has a growing membership of lawyers who are committed to improving the legal help that victims receive.

Our membership includes lawyers who represent victims of economic crime such as fraud, money laundering, corruption as well as lawyers who represent victims of offences against the person such as murder, manslaughter, assault and sexual crime.

What we do.

We are a group of lawyers who specialise in representing victims of crime.

VOCAL’s lawyers meet and hold training events in different countries in Europe three times a year.

  • Provides an opportunity for specialist victims’ lawyers to come together to share experiences;

  • Runs educational events;

  • Liaises with and provides assistance to Victim Support Europe.

Any lawyer interested in joining should set out our their experience or interest in representing victims of crime. The VOCAL Committee will review and consider each application.
